Wakame was imagined as a calm Pan-Asian restaurant in a space known for loud visuals and louder themes. Led by Chef Nisha, it blends comfort with creativity, bringing flavours that feel familiar yet exciting.
The name, inspired by wakame seaweed, opened up a beautiful world to build from soft forms, gentle movement, natural colours, and a sense of quiet depth. Wakame wasn’t just a restaurant idea; it was a feeling waiting to be shaped.
The challenge was to create a premium Pan-Asian identity without using the usual design shortcuts, bold reds, or symbols that felt overdone.
Wakame needed a brand that felt modern, warm, and rooted in nature. Something serene. Something crafted. Something that truly reflected the restaurant’s soul, not just the category it belonged to.
We approached Wakame by beginning where the brand began, with the seaweed itself. Instead of forcing a visual style, we let the ingredient guide us. Its movement, softness, and natural textures shaped the entire identity system, giving Wakame a visual language that feels alive yet composed.
